Recipe of Today: Sea Salt Cream Cheese Chiffon Cake
Ingredients:
For The Chiffon Cake:
- 4 large eggs, separated
- ¾ cup cake flour
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ¼ cup vegetable oil
- ¼ cup whole milk
- ¼ tsp sea salt
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
For The Sea Salt Cream Cheese Mixture:
- 200g cream cheese, softened
- 50g unsalted butter, softened
- ¼ cup powdered sugar
- ¼ tsp sea salt
- 2 tbsps heavy cream
- almonds slices for garnish
Instructions:
For The Chiffon Cake:
- Preheat your oven to 320°F. Prepare an ungreased 8-inch chiffon cake pan.
- In the mixing bowl of your Kitchenin KM50 Stand Mixer, beat the egg yolks, vegetable oil, milk, sea salt, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Gradually add the cake flour and baking powder to the egg yolk mixture, beating until smooth.
- In a separate mixing bowl, beat the egg whites with your Kitchenin KM50 Stand Mixer until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold the beaten egg whites into the cake batter in three additions, ensuring that there are no large streaks of egg whites remaining.
- Pour the batter into the prepared chiffon cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the top of the cake is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and immediately invert the pan onto a wire rack. Allow the cake to cool completely while inverted to prevent it from collapsing.
For The Sea Salt Cream Cheese Mixture:
- Grab your Kitchenin KM50 Stand Mixer and beat the softened cream cheese, unsalted butter, powdered sugar, and sea salt until smooth and creamy.
- Gradually add the heavy cream while continuing to beat the mixture until it becomes light and fluffy.
Assembly:
- Once the chiffon cake has cooled completely, carefully remove it from the cake pan and place it on a serving plate.
- Pour the prepared Sea Salt Cream Cheese Mixture over the top of the chiffon cake.
- Garnish with almonds slices and powdered sugar for an extra burst of flavor. Serve and enjoy!
