Recipe of Today: Pigs in A Blanket
Ingredients:
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsps sugar
- 2 tsps baking powder
- ½ tsp sea salt
- 1 cup warm milk
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 tsp sugar (for yeast activation)
- cocktail sausages
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F in advance.
- In a small bowl, combine the active dry yeast with 1 teaspoon of sugar. Add warm milk and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In the mixing bowl of your Kitchenin KM50 Stand Mixer, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the softened butter and activated yeast mixture. Use the dough hook attachment to knead the dough until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle.
- Cut the rolled dough into strips and wrap each strip around a cocktail sausage.
- Place the wrapped sausages on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let the Pigs in A Blanket cool for a few minutes before serving. Dip them in your favorite sauces and savor the delightful goodness!
