Recipe of Today: Pigs in A Blanket

Ingredients:

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsps sugar
  • 2 tsps baking powder
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar (for yeast activation)
  • cocktail sausages

Instructions:

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F in advance.
  • In a small bowl, combine the active dry yeast with 1 teaspoon of sugar. Add warm milk and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  • In the mixing bowl of your Kitchenin KM50 Stand Mixer, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Add the softened butter and activated yeast mixture. Use the dough hook attachment to knead the dough until smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  • Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle.
  • Cut the rolled dough into strips and wrap each strip around a cocktail sausage.
  • Place the wrapped sausages on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Let the Pigs in A Blanket cool for a few minutes before serving. Dip them in your favorite sauces and savor the delightful goodness!
