Recipe of Today: Panna Cotta


  • ¼ cup whole milk
  • 1 ¼ tsps unflavored powdered gelatin
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract


  • Put the whole milk in a small mixing bowl and spread the gelatin in a single layer over the surface. Be sure not to pile it up, as that will prevent the crystals from dissolving properly. Let it rest for 5-10 minutes to soften.
  • At the same time, in a medium saucepan, heat the cream, sugar and vanilla extract over medium heat to a boil until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat. Add the gelatin and stir immediately until smooth and dissolved. If the gelatin is not completely dissolved, return the pan to the stove and heat over low heat. Stir constantly, do not let the mixture boil.
  • Pour the cream into 4 separate bottles, jars or dishes. Refrigerate for at least 2-4 hours, or until fully set. 
  • Top with fresh fruit, such as strawberries, blueberries, or lemon curd, if desired. Serve and enjoy!
