Recipe of Today: Meringue Christmas Tree Cookies
Ingredients:
- 4 large egg whites
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ tsp cream of tartar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- green gel food coloring
- assorted sprinkles for decoration
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 200°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In the mixing bowl of your Kitchenin KM50 Stand Mixer, combine egg whites and cream of tartar. Beat on low speed until frothy.
- Gradually add sugar, 1 tbsp at a time, while the mixer is still running. Continue beating on medium-high speed until stiff peaks form. This will take around 10-12 minutes.
- Add vanilla extract and a few drops of green gel food coloring. Mix until well combined, creating a beautiful green meringue.
- Attach a star-shaped piping tip to your piping bag. Fill the bag with the green meringue. Pipe Christmas tree shapes onto the prepared baking sheets.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 ½ to 2 hours or until the meringues are dry and easily lift off the parchment paper.
- Allow the Meringue Christmas Trees to cool completely on the baking sheets.
- Once cooled, attach assorted sprinkles as ornaments on your Meringue Christmas Trees.
- Carefully remove the meringue trees from the parchment paper and arrange them on a festive plate. Serve and enjoy the whimsical and delicious Christmas treats!
