Recipe of Today: Meat Loaf


  • 2 large eggs
  • 2/3 cup whole milk
  • 3 slices torn bread
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup grated carrot
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar
  • 1 tbsp minced fresh parsley
  • 1 tsp dried basil, thyme or sage
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 ½ pounds lean ground beef


  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp prepared mustard


  • In the mixing bowl of your Kitchenin KM50 Stand Mixer, beat eggs. Then Add milk and bread and let stand until liquid is absorbed completely. Later on add onion, carrots, cheese and seasonings. Crumble beef over mixture and mix well. 
  • Shape the mixture into a 7 ½ * 3 ½ * 1 ½ inch loaf in a shallow baking pan. Bake, uncovered, at 350°F for about 45 minutes. 
  • Mix the topping ingredients according to the list above. Spoon half of mixture over the meat loaf. Bake for another 30 minutes, or until the meat is no longer pink and the thermometer reads 160°, occasionally spooning the remaining filling to cover the bread. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
