Recipe of Today: Dark Chocolate Tart

Ingredients:

For The Crust:

  • 1 ½ cups chocolate cookie crumbs
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted

For The Filling:

  • 2 cups dark chocolate, finely chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • a pinch of salt

For The Topping:

  • dark chocolate shavings or cocoa powder (optional)
  • fresh berries for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  • In your Kitchenin KM50 Stand Mixer, combine the chocolate cookie crumbs and melted butter. Mix on low speed until the crumbs are evenly coated with butter.
  • Press the mixture into a tart pan, ensuring an even layer on the base and up the sides. Refrigerate the crust while you prepare the filling.
  • In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream until it just starts to simmer.
  • Pour the hot cream over the chopped dark chocolate in the mixing bowl. Let it sit for a minute, then stir with the Kitchenin KM50 Stand Mixer until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
  • Then add sugar, butter, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Mix until well combined. Allow the chocolate mixture to cool slightly.
  • Pour the dark chocolate filling into the prepared crust. Smooth the top with a spatula for an even finish. Place the tart in the refrigerator and let it chill for at least 4 hours or until set.
  • Before serving, garnish with dark chocolate shavings or a dusting of cocoa powder. Optionally, add fresh berries for a burst of color and flavor.
  • Slice the dark chocolate tart into wedges and serve chilled. Pair it with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra treat. Enjoy!
