Recipe of Today: Dark Chocolate Tart
Ingredients:
For The Crust:
- 1 ½ cups chocolate cookie crumbs
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
For The Filling:
- 2 cups dark chocolate, finely chopped
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup unsalted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- a pinch of salt
For The Topping:
- dark chocolate shavings or cocoa powder (optional)
- fresh berries for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- In your Kitchenin KM50 Stand Mixer, combine the chocolate cookie crumbs and melted butter. Mix on low speed until the crumbs are evenly coated with butter.
- Press the mixture into a tart pan, ensuring an even layer on the base and up the sides. Refrigerate the crust while you prepare the filling.
- In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream until it just starts to simmer.
- Pour the hot cream over the chopped dark chocolate in the mixing bowl. Let it sit for a minute, then stir with the Kitchenin KM50 Stand Mixer until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
- Then add sugar, butter, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Mix until well combined. Allow the chocolate mixture to cool slightly.
- Pour the dark chocolate filling into the prepared crust. Smooth the top with a spatula for an even finish. Place the tart in the refrigerator and let it chill for at least 4 hours or until set.
- Before serving, garnish with dark chocolate shavings or a dusting of cocoa powder. Optionally, add fresh berries for a burst of color and flavor.
- Slice the dark chocolate tart into wedges and serve chilled. Pair it with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra treat. Enjoy!
