Recipe of Today: Cherry Cream Cheese Danish
Ingredients:
- 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
- 1 cup cherry pie filling
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 egg, beaten
- powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In your Kitchenin KM50 Stand Mixer, beat the cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Unfold the thawed puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Cut it into 8 equal squares.
- Spoon a dollop of the cream cheese mixture onto the center of each square. Top with a spoonful of cherry pie filling.
- Brush the edges of each square with beaten egg. Fold opposite corners of each square towards the center, slightly overlapping the filling.
- Place the danishes on the prepared baking sheet and brush the tops with the remaining beaten egg.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastries are golden brown and puffed up.
- Allow the danishes to cool for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, dust the danishes with powdered sugar for a beautiful finishing touch.
