Recipe of Today: Cherry Cream Cheese Danish

Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 cup cherry pie filling
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions:

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In your Kitchenin KM50 Stand Mixer, beat the cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  • Unfold the thawed puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Cut it into 8 equal squares.
  • Spoon a dollop of the cream cheese mixture onto the center of each square. Top with a spoonful of cherry pie filling.
  • Brush the edges of each square with beaten egg. Fold opposite corners of each square towards the center, slightly overlapping the filling.
  • Place the danishes on the prepared baking sheet and brush the tops with the remaining beaten egg.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastries are golden brown and puffed up.
  • Allow the danishes to cool for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Once cooled, dust the danishes with powdered sugar for a beautiful finishing touch.
