Recipe of Today: Apple Crisp
Ingredients:
- ½ cup melted butter
- ¾ cup old fashion oats
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp salt
- 4 cups baking apples, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 tbsps cornstarch
- 1 cup water
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°. Combine butter, oats, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon and salt in a medium bowl. Pour half of the oat mixture into the bottom of a greased 9*13 inches pan.
- In a small saucepan, cook sugar, cornstarch, water, and vanilla extract over medium-high heat for 4-5 minutes or until thickened.
- Place sliced apples on top of oat mixture and pour cornstarch mixture over apples.
- Sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture over the top.
- Bake at 350° for 1 hour. Allow 1 hour to rest before serving. Enjoy!
Tips:
Instead of struggling with apples in the old fashion way, actually you could quickly peel and slice them with stand mixer spiralizer attachment. After attaching the spiralizer to your Kitchenin KM50 Stand Mixer along with the thickest slicing blade and peeler, simply pop an apple and let the machine do the rest! It can peel, core and slice your apples in no time. The best part about this attachment is that you can turn the peeler on or off at will, so if the apple you want to slice is still on it, that's not a problem!
