Recipe of Today: Angel Food Cake


  • 1 cup cake flour
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • ¼ tsp sea salt
  • 12 egg whites, room temperature
  • 1 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract


  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together cake flour, half of the granulated sugar, and sea salt.
  • In another mixing bowl, beat the egg whites and cream of tartar with the whisk attachment on your Kitchenin KM50 Stand Mixer until soft peaks form.
  • Gradually add in the remaining sugar, 2 tbsps at a time, and continue to beat until stiff peaks form.
  • Add in the vanilla extract and mix until just combined.
  • Sift the flour mixture over the egg whites and fold in gently until the batter is evenly mixed
  • Pour the batter into an ungreased 10-inch angel food cake pan.
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the cake is golden brown and springs back when touched.
  • Remove from oven and invert the pan onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Once cooled, loosen the edges of the cake with a knife and remove from pan. Serve with fresh fruit and whipped cream if desired. Serve and enjoy!
